Do not prime first. Mix 3 parts filler to 1 part water into a workable paste, press firmly into the defect, slightly overfill, then scrape level after about 30 minutes. The putty cannot be effectively thinned or reworked after its initial set. Agnew's Water Putty is not a flexible compound or a moisture barrier. For exterior use, make sure the substrate does not expand and contract much with temperature, and that the putty is dry and sealed.
