Slabbed at 38mm (dressed at 28-33mm) these African Mahogany blanks are great for charcuterie boards, chopping boards, shelves, vanity tops, coffee tables & hall tables.

Approximate Sizing - 600-650mm x 300-450mm

All boards are selected at random, however are all similar in size & colour.
As these boards are real timber they may come with minor defects (added character) at no extra charge. While we have tried to accurately show variations, your piece may vary from those shown & include knots, cracks, rough spots or other characteristics found in natural wood.

In Australia African Mahogany is typically grown in the Northern Territory & Queensland Tropics. Prized for uses in cabinetry, interior joinery, windows, doors, and contemporary and reproduction furniture.

The heartwood ranges from pale pink to a deeper reddish brown, sometimes with streaks of medium to dark reddish brown. Colors darken with age.

The grain is straight to interlocked, with a medium to coarse texture. Good natural luster and a high degree of chatoyancy. Quartersawn surfaces exhibit a ribbon-stripe appearance.

Generally easy to work, though tearout can be a problem if the grain is interlocked. May stain and react with iron-based fasteners in damp conditions. Glues, turns, and finishes well.

Your postage option/s will depend on the size & weight of your timber. If purchasing multiple pieces please get in touch to obtain a postage quote, as we can do a cheaper combined rate.

Unfortunately we are unable to send timber to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers.

Timber under 1.2m & weighing less than 25kgs can usually be sent by courier without additional charges

Timber 1.2m-1.8m & weighing less than 25kg must can usually be sent by courier but has additional manual handling charges (while we try to calculate this at checkout, rural or remote areas may incur extra charges).

Timber 1.8m+ or weighing more than 25kg must be put on a pallet. postage estimates are given at checkout, however we will provide a quote upon request.

If possible we suggest picking up from your closest carrier depot to avoid paying residential tailgate surcharges. This can result in big $$ savings to you!
