Australia Wide Postage
Hammer Roo provides you with two main shipping options at checkout – Standard or Express Shipping. Overnight services are available upon request, please contact us for a quote on (07) 3180 2311.
We use a variety of freight carriers including, but not limited to: Australia Post, TNT, Couriers Please, Mainfreight & Team Global Express (formerly Toll).
While we endeavor to provide the postage option chosen at cart, sometimes this is not possible due to factors including; weight restrictions, physical size restrictions & location. We will endeavor to provide a similar service where possible eg. Australia Express Post may be replaced with TNT Express for larger items.
All packages are trackable so you will receive regular updates on the status of your delivery as it is being shipped to you once it has been dispatched. Please note the maximum package length that can be sent through Australia Post is 105cm and the maximum weight is 22kg. Anything over these dimensions will be sent via courier. If the parcel is outside these dimensions the parcel cannot be delivered to PO Boxes or Parcel Lockers.
Pickup In Store
Customers can place an order as a phone order or on the website via the Pickup In Store option at checkout. You will receive an order ready for pickup notification when your order is ready top be collected from our Loganholme warehouse.
If any item ordered is over 50kg we will load your vehicle by forklift. You must come in an appropriate vehicle where this can occur - a ute, van or vehicle with a trailer. We cannot load heavy items into sedans, SUV's or passenger wagon vehicles where we cannot get full forklift access. If you are unsure, please call us prior to arriving to discuss for clarification (07) 3180 2311.
If you opted for delivery, you will receive an email when the goods have been dispatched. You will receive regular updates on the status of your delivery as it is being shipped to you.
You can generally expect a turnaround time of less than 48 hours (excluding weekends) for order dispatch. We aim to dispatch your order within 1-3 business days of receiving it or within 14 business days for special order items, however during certain times of the year such as Christmas, Easter, Black Friday and Public Holidays dispatch times may be slightly longer.
Insurance - Covering Loss/Damage In Transit
All freight companies used by Hammer Roo are general carriers and therefore do not cover damage or loss of goods in transit. Hammer Roo offers a simple insurance option, that is calculated at 2% of the value of goods (starting at $0.75), your order will be insured against damage and/or loss in transit.
We offer insurance on our website as an Opt-Out option for orders up to $5000 in value. In other words, it is automatically included. The only way it cannot be included is if you specifically untick the Insurance checkbox. This is your tacit agreement that you choose not to insure the goods and are taking risk with any issues that arise during the shipment of your order once it leaves Hammer Roo.
If you do not accept the insurance charge, you will do so at your own risk and any damage and/or loss is your responsibility. In all cases, we HIGHLY recommend the optional protection of insurance.
Optional Insurance Will Cover:
- Damage from point of dispatch to point of delivery
- Lost In Transit from point of dispatch to point of delivery
Optional Insurance Will Not Cover:
- Items stolen from delivery address after carrier has successfully delivered the package.
- Items labeled as Authority To Leave
Authority To Leave
If you want to have your order left at your address even if you are not home you can request Authority To Leave in the order notes during check out. If you request this option;
- You are accepting responsibility for delivery of the item once it leaves the warehouse.
- We assume a delivery has been made if the courier reports that the item has been delivered.
- Non-delivery/Theft claims by customers will not be accepted if the carrier confirms delivery has been made even if optional insurance is purchased.
Using Your Own Freight Company
You are most welcome to use your own freight company if you wish. Your order can be placed online for as In Store Pickup. Simply pass on your order details to your carrier and they can pick it up as if it was a regular In Store Pickup order. If you require weight and dimensions to pass on to your courier please email Info@HammerRoo.com.au
Freight & Delivery
All prices advertised exclude freight delivery costs. Delivery charges are calculated depending on the delivery postcode, the weight & physical dimensions of the products in your order. Before you commit to any order from Hammer Roo we will show the full price including freight (and optional insurance).
All items over 30kg needing a tailgate will be flagged on the product page & we will contact you to arrange a quote. For more information on the Tailgate Drop Fee please read below.
Tailgate Drop Fees
Any single product carton that weighs over 30kg must be shipped on a skid or pallet.
If a product is over 30kg you can:
- Pick it up from the closest courier depot. Please advise us that you would like to choose this option, and when it arrives at the courier's depot they will be in touch to advise you it is ready for pick up. They will also set out any terms and conditions for the pick-up. It will be loaded via forklift so having an appropriate vehicle or trailer to allow this to happen is your requirement.
- Pay a tailgate drop fee. This will mean that the truck arriving to deliver the goods will have a hydraulic tailgate that will safely set the skid on the ground with a manual pallet truck to move the skid to a reasonable position on the property so that it is deemed to be safely delivered. Tailgate drop fees vary based on carrier (usually $80-$90), please contact us for an accurate quote.
If your consignment fits the above criteria we will contact you prior to dispatch to confirm your preferred method and collect the tailgate drop fee if you choose that option for your delivery.
Manual Handling Surcharge (Overlength/Oversized Items)
What is the Manual Handling Surcharge?
Any item once packaged that measures over 1.2m, weighs over 30kg or cannot pass through automatic freight sortation machines and must be handled manually by freight companies. For items 1.2 - 1.8m long there is a surcharge of $16.50 and for items 1.8m and longer there is a surcharge of $83.50 charged by the freight company to manually handle this freight.
Hammer Roo passes this charge on at cost. If you choose the In Store Pickup option there is no extra charge on your order for handling these items.
Return To Sender
If an unsuccessful attempt is made to deliver a parcel or parcel is uncollected within the carriers specified time-frame & the carrier returns the parcel to sender the customer will be responsible for re-delivery & return to sender charges. These charges vary depending on carrier & location. Should the customer not make contact regarding the parcel after 3 months from returned date, the parcel will be classed as abandoned & discarded.
